Congress has voted to delay the mandatory shutdown of analog television from February 17 to June 12, 2009. If you haven't already taken action, don't put your preparations off until the last minute. tpt Presents: King in Minnesota: The Lost 1959 Broadcast
This priceless program has not been seen for 50 years. One of the earliest known TV recordings of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., in it he describes his developing philosophy of civil rights and civil disobedience. His interviewer was L. Howard Bennett, Minnesota's first African-American judge. Produced by KTCA for national distribution, the program subsequently vanished from station memory, and from our film vault. But after nearly a decade of detective work, tpt uncovered a copy in the National Archives.
