Twin Cities Public Television's Depression: Out of the Shadows wins Peabody Award!
Depression: Out of the Shadows, the 2008 documentary co-produced by Twin Cities Public Television (tpt) and WGBH Boston, has won a Peabody award, the world's oldest prize in electronic media. The yearly competition is an international affair, and honors distinguished achievement in a variety of fields, from radio to television to the web. Gerry Richman, Executive Vice President of National Productions at tpt says, "We are extremely gratified to receive this prestigious award. It's a terrific credit to producer Larkin McPhee and the talented staff who made this such a powerful and truly life-changing program."

What if kids could get involved with predicting their own snow days, or hit-the-beach
days? On Monday, April 20th Cyberchase will begin its new Weather Watchers initiative which includes five math and weather-themed episodes, including four premieres; a new interactive Web game at Cyberchase Online; hands-on activities for kids; and tips for parents and teachers. Celebrate Earth Day on Wednesday, April 22 with the fourth annual "PBS KIDS Share the Earth Day" and a new Web-based Earth Day Channel on PBS KIDS GO!. Whether it's the importance of dirt on Sid the Science Kid, water conservation on Super Why or the effects of pollution on Cyberchase, no seed of knowledge is left unsown. The on-air event will feature a music video from the award-winning kids' rock band Milkshake, as well as Earth-friendly tips from PBS KIDS hosts Mr. Steve, Miss Rosa and Miss Lori and you'll enjoy earth-friendly premiere episodes from Curious George, Arthur and Cyberchase.
